Heritage Is Not a Costume

There is a difference between copying history and continuing it.

Many designers borrow traditional motifs as decoration. We wanted something deeper. Rather than reproducing garments from the past, Zellij Drift explores the principles behind them—the balance of geometry and softness, structure and movement, craftsmanship and ease.

The collection does not ask you to dress as though you belong to another century.

It asks a different question:

What would heritage look like if it were designed today?

Inspired by Morocco, Designed for Today

Morocco has long been a meeting point of cultures, colours, textures and craftsmanship.

The rhythmic geometry of zellij tiles.
The quiet beauty of riads.
Sunlight moving across textured walls.
Handcrafted details passed from one generation to another.

These became the emotional starting point for the collection.

Rather than copying these references literally, they were translated into silhouettes, proportions and carefully considered details.

A front tie becomes a softer interpretation of wrapped dressing.

Architectural wide-leg trousers echo the clean balance found in Moroccan architecture.

Hand-applied shells and beads celebrate craftsmanship through subtle detail rather than excess.

The influence is present, but never overwhelming.
